This is book 2.5 in Tiffany Robert’s Isle of the Forgotten series.
In this book Quildor will return home after being away for 18 years. He’s on a mission for the Mage Tower to look into a possible dark magic situation. He will also have a chance to meet the girl he left behind so long ago.
Wren is a Servant of the Goddess of Death, and as her town has been stricken by a plague, she is exhausted and doesn’t know if anyone will survive. She has never forgotten Quildor and the love they had when they were young.
Wren and Quil are reunited after so long, but will if be too late?
This was a good story. I feel like it should have been longer, it didn’t conclude as well as I might have liked, but as it’s a novella and just a stepping stone to the next book in the series, that can probably be forgiven. It’s an enjoyable short story.
