This is the 12th book in Nalini Singh’s Psy/ Changeling series. It is written in third person POV from mainly Kaleb Krychek and Sahara Kyriakus.

This is probably my favorite Nalini Singh novel, but I could be wrong.

SPOILER ALERT: There will be spoilers for the earlier books in this series. I can’t really avoid it.

Kaleb is the most powerful Psy there is. He is a Cardinal telepath and telekinetic (to be a Cardinal is to be off the charts powerful, and he has that ability times two). He was also raised to be the protege of one of the most corrupt Psy to have ever existed. This makes him also the most feared Psy ever. He as the ability to destroy the PsyNet as well as the planet should he so choose. However, there is another person he has been linked to for years who has a say in what he does, if he can ever bring her back to him.

Sahara Kyriakus was kidnapped at the age of 16 and held captive for about seven years. In order to survive, she had to give up her sanity. She always knew however she did need to survive, just not why. But when someone from her paths finds her and brings her to safety, she begins to change.

Kaleb isn’t a nice person. He’s cold, pragmatic, and he wants to rule the world. He doesn’t care who dies, he just wants those important to him to be safe. Everything else around him lines up with those goals. He’s not a gentle hero. But what he is is loyal and willing to do whatever it takes.

This isn’t an easy love story to read, but it’s strong and very emotional and I love it. The strength of personality Sahara and Kaleb have are very glorious, and watching them find their way is beautiful. This is a phenomenal book. At least to me.
