This is the seventh book in Nalini Singh’s Guild Hunter series. It is written in third person from primarily Ashwini Taj’s and Janvier’s POVs.
SPOILER ALERT: There will be spoilers regarding the earlier books in this series. Fair warning.
Ashwini is kind of kooky. She can learn things about people just by touching them, however depending on the type of person, it can be debilitating. Janvier is a vampire from the bayou who is over 200 years old. He has an easy charm and the ability to make friends everywhere he goes.
Ash and Janvier have some history together. Ash has hunted Janvier on and off for the last four years or so, and they have made a game of it. They are both very aware there is something between them, however Ash has secrets that keep her from wanting to take their relationship past the easy banter and flirtation they currently enjoy. This book is about Ash and Janvier figuring how how and even if they can move to the next step.
In the no romance vein, this book is about tracking down someone who managed to kill a woman in a very disturbing and concerning way. Lijuan is currently defeated, however this murder has all of her trademarks. Has she come back already?
This is another fabulous book by Nalini Singh. It makes you laugh and it’ll make you cry (or at least, is made me cry). It’s a beautiful love story that will touch you in all the right places.
